Bulldog Basketball Alumni Honored
February 20, 2026
Friday night, February 20, 2026, was truly a special evening—one that has been a long time in the making.
We proudly celebrated twenty-eight remarkable Bulldog alumni, five outstanding coaches, and one athletic director by commemorating their achievements and displaying their likenesses on the gym walls, where they will forever hang as reminders of their greatness.
These honorees embody the very best of what it means to be a Bulldog. They have demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, strong character, and integrity—both in competition and in life.

Criteria for recognition:
Each honoree earned distinction as a First Team All-State athlete, State Champion, and/or Final Four competitor. Many have gone on to accomplish extraordinary things beyond these walls—competing at the collegiate level, playing in the NFL, CFL, and MLB, reaching the NCAA Final Four, and even being drafted into and playing in the NBA. Coach's must have been a part of at least two State Championships. In addition, one individual was honored under a special circumstance for more than 50 years of dedicated service to the school and athletic department.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to the development of my 20 and Counting project. I feel compelled to recognize many by name, but I also want to apologize in advance for anyone I may unintentionally omit, as there are simply too many deserving individuals to list.
A special thank you to Dr. Stubblefield, our superintendent, for your early support and for giving me the opportunity to move forward with this project. To Dr. Mary Stewart, former principal, thank you as well. I’m also deeply grateful to my personal assistants—Dave Haden, Jill Hall, and Delbert Rhynes—who have been with me since day one and continue to lift me up with their advice, encouragement, and belief in this vision.
I would also like to recognize Ebony Haliburton, a former player, for introducing me to Dave Haden. That connection brought together my 30+ years of research with his extensive knowledge of Bulldog and Wyandotte history, creating the perfect partnership. Without Ebony, I’m not sure 20 and Counting would have ever taken flight.
To my administrative team at Wyandotte, thank you for always being flexible and supportive whenever I needed a few moments away from the hallways or classrooms to tend to 20 and Counting responsibilities. Your understanding has meant more than you know.
I would also like to thank each and every former basketball player who makes up our Wyandotte Bulldog family. Whether you were part of one of the twenty state championship teams or not, we are all connected as one family.
And finally, to Dr. Guliford—thank you for coming to town, picking up the torch, and continuing to carry it forward. Your thoughtfulness and unwavering support mean the world to me, and I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.
Establishing this retirement was important because it connects generations — honoring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future. When current and future Bulldogs look up and see these banners, they are reminded that excellence is achievable, standards matter, and legacy is something worth earning.
For alumni and community members, I hope the banners spark pride and connection — a reminder that Wyandotte’s legacy was built by generations of Bulldogs who cared deeply about this school and each other.
